Drunkenness Has Consequences, That’s A Universal Law
There is no mystery that people who live their life drunk with alcohol has negative consequences in their life. There are health issues, their life becomes unstable, their involvement in society is ruined, they have more love for alcohol than they do the Living God, and when it comes to their words and behavior it has very little to do with a sober spirit. From the beginning of time this has been true, and it is because definite laws are in place that cannot be violated! There is a law relating to the Spirit and a law relating to sin. The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. We are advised to be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. All through the Bible, drunkenness is associated with end time destruction, as in Matthew 24. Satan, through drunkenness, holds people hostage to the law of sin and death…and the gates of Hell opens her mouth wide to swallow them up. We serve a Holy God, sanctified in Righteousness, who is exalted in Judgment…and in Him is the Spirit of Life through Christ Jesus.
People “party,” celebrate, and otherwise enjoy the enticements of the world, indulge in the pleasures of the flesh, and become captives to Satan through the law of sin and death. They lose all consciousness and interest in the Living God, the Message of the Cross of Christ, and the nature of the Holy Ghost. Drunkenness of spirit and soul has caused them to live their life in opposition to the Laws of the Kingdom of God as they live according to the man-made rules of the kingdom of this world! In their drunkenness they are under the influence of the law of sin and death as they oppose the remission of sin, oppose the presence of the Holy Ghost, and reject the Spirit of Life that is found in Christ Jesus. We are advised to be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Life in the Spirit is through the resurrection Power of God, which raised Jesus Christ from the dead, and grants us an eternal Home in the New Jerusalem. The consequences of drunkenness is a very obvious window into the exaltation of God through His Judgment, He is Holy and sanctified in Righteousness. That is just the way the world works!
The soul and spirit are not fed by drunkenness! The soul and spirit is not fed by the knowledge and information flowing from the modern god of this technological age. The soul and spirit is only fed by the Spirit of Life. Those are the laws already set into motion. The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. What Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross has caused our sin to become dormant, rendered inactive, and made to do nothing in the quenching of our thirst. Instead, Christ Jesus fills our thirst with the Water of Life. Be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit. Abiding in Christ will separate us from the drunken enticements of this world. Christ Jesus makes us compliant with the Law of the Spirit of Life while we avoid the prison caused by the law of sin and death.
No one is perfect, which is to say that we are all flawed by sin. God honors that humble attitude. We all know someone whose life has been changed because of what Christ did on the Cross to remit sin. I am one. God honors that belief. Confessing that we are flawed with sin, and believing in the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross will reconcile us to God. That simple! Believe in the heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord
Scripture Text
“Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that continue until night, till wine inflame them! And the harp, and the viol, the tabret, and pipe, and wine, are in their feasts: but they regard not the work of the Lord, neither consider the operation of his hands. Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst. Therefore hell hath enlarged herself, and opened her mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoices, shall descend into it. And the mean man shall be brought down, and the mighty man shall be humbled, and the eyes of the lofty shall be humbled: but the Lord of hosts shall be exalted in judgment, and God that is holy shall be sanctified in righteousness. Then shall the lambs feed after their manner, and the waste places of the fat ones shall strangers eat.”
Isaiah 5:11-17
