Fear of This World Is Bondage to Sin
In today’s age, our concern seems to be much more a focus on physical needs than any real belief in God. We have to eat and sleep to live, meaning we have to earn an income and have a roof over our head. We prefer to have our physical needs met as we choose against God. This is an example of how the flesh and blood can hold us bondage to sin nature. We will agitate the mental and emotional welfare of others in order to be rewarded with our needs. In our own flesh, we want to feel safe and secure, therefore we make conflict and instability for those who are “not Hi.” That is being in bondage to sin. Others feel bullied and not wanted in society because those seeking to “make a living” cannot tolerate someone trying to break through social barriers. There are many social demands made on us by those who reject God but have authority and hold others into the bondage of sin. As more and more people refuse to identify with a living God, they use words and behaviors that identify themselves with the spirit of the anti-Christ.
Christ also felt every need of the flesh and blood as we do; hunger, thirst, threats to security, social pressures, ridicule of identity, and death. Howbeit, not one time was He ever brought under bondage to the nature of sin. God’s love was in Him for the redemption of others, not for bullying others. He defeated Satan in His daily walk on Earth, and defeated Satan on the Cross. He defeated death! He defeated death of the Spirit and was risen from the tomb to give witness to the resurrection power. There is no reason at all to fear death, we have a home in the New Jerusalem. Fear keeps you in bondage to Satan, and makes you a tool in the persecution of God’s Children. As we welcome what Christ did for us on the Cross we are set apart from the ways of a Godless world. The Holy Spirit cleanses us to give us a burning desire to be freed from the bondage of sin and to be reconciled with the Spirit of God.
“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.”
Hebrews 2:14-15
