For The Lord Will Have Mercy On Jacob, And Will Yet Choose Israel
In past articles, I’ve talked a lot about prophetic events relating to the anti-Christ, the Great Tribulation, and the victorious return of our Lord Jesus Christ. We want Christ Jesus to abide in us, and He is the ultimate and final Prophet, Priest, and King! All prophecy relates to what He has done for humanity on the Cross, He is the Priest to bring our spirit into fellowship with God’s Spirit, and He is the soon coming King! In this article, I will focus on what Christ did for us on the Cross, and we will see how easily that transitions into prophecy.
“For the Lord will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land.” The Living God has mercy on all of us according to the remission of sin that we have through the atonement made by His Son Jesus Christ. Through the dormancy of sin, we have fellowship with the Holiness of God because the Spirit of the Holy Christ is alive in us. To be set in their own land is to be set in the Holy City…for us non-Jewish, we know that Holy Land comes from the Kingdom of God and is the New Jerusalem. We feel it within our spirit and know it is true. For the Jewish Nation, as a culture they reject Christ Jesus as their Messiah, so for them to be brought into their own land must be for a time here in the kingdom of this world, but also refers to the day when they will receive Christ Jesus as their Messiah when He returns! A remnant will be saved in the Great Tribulation and 144,000 will be sealed for God within that period of tribulation! They will have a place set for them in the New Jerusalem!
“…and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob. And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the Lord for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.” All of this is prophetic, but still the interpretation has to come from the Prophet, Priest, and King, our Lord Jesus Christ. Strangers are those people who have rejected what Christ did for them on the Cross, which means they allow sin to rule in them, and they allow the anti-Christ to persuade their words and actions. In other words, their spirit is not guided by the Light of God the Holy Spirit. They love the pleasures and ways of the world more than they love the Spirit of Christ! Cleaving to the House of Jacob simply means that these strangers will be servants to the Holiness within the House of Jacob. Isn’t that the way a perfect world should be? A world where wicked people are under the dominion and captivity of the Goodness of God’s Spirit? Wouldn’t we all pray for our children to be under the influence of Righteous parents and be removed from under the influence of those who abuse, harm, and murder them? In the day of Christ’s return, we will reign with Him…all things will be put in subjection to Him…and we will be a part of that….if we believe in our heart and confess with our mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
“And it shall come to pass in the day that the Lord shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou was made to serve.” We live in the age of the Cross of Christ, and this Age of the Cross has been in effect for a couple thousand years. Before the Great Tribulation is in full swing, there will be a great falling away from the Message of the Cross within the Church. That day is here! Because of that falling away, wickedness and evil occurrences are beginning to multiply and increase from day to day. The Holy Spirt is scarce and if a measuring stick was used to see how deep the Cross of Christ runs in our society, it would be astoundingly shallow! For that reason, there is weariness to endure life from day to day; there is much sorrow in our family, culture, and political climate; there is fear of what is going to happen next to dictate what we can or cannot say about our Lord Jesus Christ; and we are obviously in bondage to mysterious powers in wicked places, which is far from the “good ole days.” BUT, there is a day coming of no more weariness, no more sorrow, no more fear, and no more hard bondage. At the Second Coming of Christ Jesus, even in the 1000 year reign, there will be rest, joy, peace, and freedom in Christ Jesus, the King. We need to accept what Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross, He is the One True Prophet, Priest, and King!
No one is perfect, which is to say that we are all flawed by sin. God honors that humble attitude. We all know someone whose life has been changed because of what Christ Jesus did on the Cross to remit sin. I am one. God honors that belief. Confessing that we are flawed with sin, and believing in the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross will reconcile us to God. That simple! Believe in the heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
