God Will Turn His hand Upon You, and Purely Purge Away Your Dross
Israel has had it tough in this world, including the horror of the Holocaust along with it’s war weary condition in today’s world. But they are also the same Jewish Nation that rebelled against God under the leadership of Moses in the wilderness, as well as demanded that Jesus Christ be crucified. Howbeit, there is always the promise of redemption as we accept what Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has done for us on the Cross. Ironically, it was once the Jewish converts, such as the Apostle Paul, who brought the Gospel to the Gentiles; today it is the Gentiles bringing the Gospel to the Jewish people. As the Lord says, “I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy sin.”
It would be a terrible feeling to be considered an enemy of God, as the Judas who betrayed Jesus Christ portrays. Judas was a Jewish person who felt so horrible about betraying Christ for 30 pieces of silver that he committed suicide. The Apostle Peter, also Jewish, denied Christ three times, but he repented and gave his life for the sake of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. God has enemies in this world who intend to destroy His people, enemies who intend to destroy God’s plan of redemption, and enemies who want to altogether destroy the awareness of the Living God. Howbeit, God promises to relieve and avenge Himself of His enemies. How can we not be considered an enemy of God?! We become a friend to God by having our sin remitted. God says, “I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy sin.”
All the scum and dross that is in our spirit, soul, and mind comes through the enticements of the flesh and by the ways of the world. Yet, God will set us apart from the world and cleanse our heart. That cleansing is made possible because God sent His Son to die on the Cross to atone for our sin. Being set apart from the ways of the world, and having sin made dormant in our life, then there will be a restoration of good judgment and discerning counselors. The City of God is a place of righteous Judges and righteous Counselors who are faithful to God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost. Redemption comes through judgment and converts are redeemed with righteousness! God will turn His hand upon you, and purely purge away your dross, and take away all your sin.
What Christ did for us on the Cross is for the purpose of fulfilling God’s plan to turn His hand upon you, and purely purge away your dross, and take away all your sin. At the Cross, we become a friend and not an enemy of God. Our sin is purged, made dormant, rendered inactive, and commanded to do nothing through us. With sin in dormancy through the Blood of Jesus Christ, the Spirit of Christ lives in us through the Holy Ghost. It is that Spirit that relieves and avenges God of His enemies. It is that Spirit of Christ that restores righteous judges and counselors, and it is the Spirit of Christ that fills the Kingdom of God with converts by the redemption coming through judgment and righteousness. By what Christ did for us on the Cross, God will turn His hand upon you, and purely purge away your dross, and take away all your sin.
Scriptural Reference
“Therefore saith the Lord, the Lord of hosts, the mighty One of Israel, Ah, I will ease me of mine adversaries, and avenge me of mine enemies: And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy sin: And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city. Zion shall be redeemed with judgment, and her converts with righteousness.” Isaiah 1:24-27 King James Version (KJV)
No one is perfect, which is to say that we are all flawed by sin. God honors that humble attitude. We all know someone whose life has been changed because of what Christ did on the Cross to remit sin. I am one. God honors that belief. Confessing that we are flawed with sin, and believing in the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross will reconcile us to God. That simple! Believe in the heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord.
