I Know In Whom I Believe
When we want the Message of the Cross to shine in our life, there can be a lot of opposition to our words, motives, and actions. The opposition comes from the nature of sin that is in the world, which is Satan’s opposition to God. People refuse to even believe in God and will totally criticize the encouragement to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. Many of those people will attack the notion that humanity even has a soul! In fact, they make materialism, emotions, things, humanitarian psychology, money, and flesh and blood tangibles more important than the living Spirit of God. They mock, curse, and ridicule you for your witness of the One in Whom you believe, the One who died on the Cross for the whosoever. If you say you rest in what the Lord has done for you, they make you suffer emotionally and mentally for not working towards their Godless agenda, Satan’s agenda. Part of our testimony for the Cross of Christ is reverence for authority, but everyday it is made public in newspapers of terrible parent/child tragedies as well as rebellion to authority of every kind. Satan wants the Children of God to suffer because of in Whom they believe. Everyday it is more and more visible the violence and harm done to one another, sexual perversion, stealing of God centered values, lying and fake news, and people lusting after the things that other people have. Satan comes to kill, steal and destroy, but we know in whom we believe and that is the Christ who died on the Cross for the remission of sin.
Satan wants to make us suffer for our testimony of what Christ has done for us on the Cross, but we know personally what has been done for us, we know in Whom we believe. We have been set apart from the ways of the world because we have been reconciled to the Spirit of God. We no longer live according to the ways of the flesh but we live in the Spirit of God’s Love, Peace, Faithfulness, and Perseverance towards those captive to the nature of sin. We want to see the redemption of souls because that is Christ in us seeking to redeem those separated from God. We know from first-hand experience how the remission of sin in our own life has transformed our words, thoughts, emotions, spirit, and soul. A whole new Spirit has transformed our old nature and made us new. This transformation can happen for anyone, and we definitely know in Whom we believe. We believe in the Son of God who gave His life on the Cross to put our sin in remission and to reconcile us with the Spirit of God. Satan wants to make us suffer for our testimony…and his attacks seem to become more intense everyday…but we have a home that is not of this world but is in the New Jerusalem. The coming of Jesus is drawing nearer and nearer. We keep ourselves set apart from the world, by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, in anticipation of that day. The resurrection power lives in us daily to overcome the death of sin and to live in the power of God’s Spirit. We know in whom we believe by personal experience.
“Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles.
For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.” 2 Timothy 1:11-12
