In That Day…Strong Cities Will Be Like a Forsaken Main Part
We must always remember the God of our Salvation! That Salvation comes to us because of what Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross. We constantly hear the same echo reverberating through the Bible, which is to emphasize God’s plan of redeeming mankind through His Son Jesus Christ. In today’s scripture, it declares that our soul and spirit is left desolate “…because you have forgotten the God of your Salvation…” and in the Book of Revelation it says “Nevertheless I have somewhat against you, because you have left your first love.” Our first love is the day where we dedicated our heart to Christ Jesus for the remission of sin and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. Materialism and lusts for the comforts in the kingdom of this world causes memory loss when it comes to remembering the God of our Salvation.
I believe the phrase, “The abomination that makes desolate” should be something that we know the meaning of. That phrase is a way of saying that an intense dislike for something causes it to become desolate. Our friendship with the kingdom of this world causes us to forget our friendship with the Kingdom of God. It’s written, “You adulterers and adulteresses, know you not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” BUT, to remember the God of our Salvation is to remember that God gave His only Son so that whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life. The abomination that desolates the Message of the Cross of Christ is in the modern Church today! They seem to have forgotten that God’s only plan is for the redemption of our soul, and that what Christ did for us on the Cross is the only way to have fellowship with God, and that God’s way of fellowshipping with us is through the spirit. When we see the abomination that desolates the love of God in our soul and desolates the fellowship of our spirit with the Spirit of God, then we know that the spirit of the anti-Christ is snowballing forward. BUT even then, we must remember the God of our Salvation. Jesus Christ is coming soon.
Part of today’s scripture says, “”In that day will his strong cities be as a forsaken bough…” A bough is a main part of the tree, and when we forget the God of our Salvation even the strong cities become forsaken! Presently, Israel really needs a Godly powerhouse to stand with them because our world is filled with abominations that desolate the idea of a Living God. We all know that the United States was once that Godly powerhouse, but is now given over to a very strong movement espousing the spirit of the anti-Christ. As the United States forsakes the God of our Salvation, the nation is becoming forsaken and overrun with violence, drug epidemics, and corruption. The House of Representatives and Senate are infested with those who hate Israel, support Islam, and oppose the God of Salvation. Who will remember the God of our Salvation if the Message of the Cross of Christ is forsaken and forgotten?
Another part of today’s scripture says, “…an uppermost branch, which they left because of the children of Israel: and there will be desolation.” It was a practice in those days to leave gleanings of fruit and grain in the field to allow the poor to come by and pick it. In other words, the Holy Spirit is saying that Israel was so poor that they would have to survive on what others would leave for them on the trees and in the field. Being poor in the spirit, in the way Israel is poor in the spirit, is to imply that they have forgotten the God of their Salvation. Worst yet, there will be desolation. That desolation will definitely be evident in the Great Tribulation and during the Battle of Armageddon! The United States might be there for them today, like scarce cherries on the top of the Cherry tree, but the United States is nobody’s hero in the Great Tribulation, only Christ Jesus can fill those shoes! We need to remember the God of our Salvation!
Fill my cup Lord, I lift it up, Lord!
Come and quench this thirsting of my soul;
Bread of heaven, Feed me till I want no more–
Fill my cup, fill it up and make me whole!
There are millions in this world who are craving
The pleasures earthly things afford;
But none can match the wondrous treasure
That I find in Jesus Christ my Lord.
Let’s remember the God of our Salvation who fills our soul with the treasure from the Kingdom of God and feeds our spirit with the Spirit of Christ! God’s only plan is for the redemption of the soul of mankind. That redemption only comes to us by accepting what Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross. What Christ Jesus did for us on the Cross is to put our sin in remission. When our sin is in remission we discover reconciliation to the Spirit of God. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit works together to give us victory over the ways of the world, victory over the lusts for the comforts of this world, and victory over Satan and the anti-Christ. Satan and the anti-Christ can only use us through the sin that is present within our soul and spirit. When our sin is remitted then the anti-Christ is remitted. Victory includes having an eternal Home in the New Jerusalem with a new glorified body. We were in Christ Jesus when He was crucified , which crucifies our nature of sin. We were in Christ at His burial, which buries our sin beneath His Blood. We were in Christ during His resurrection, which breathes life into our spirit through the Spirit of God. We will be resurrected to life to be taken Home to the New Jerusalem.
Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord.
