Jesus Is The Name Above All Names

If we pour a drain cleanser down a pipe we would expect it to unclog the plumbing. However, if we pour more gunk down the pipe we know for certain that would not unclog the drain. The sin nature of every human being is like pouring gunk into a clogged drain. Howbeit, the sinless nature of Christ is like pouring a drain cleanser into the pipe. Therefore, we cannot expect to adopt the teachings of spiritual gurus and think that it will cleanse us to make us right with God. Every human being, regardless of how spiritual they are, are born with a sinful nature. Only through the name of Jesus can we experience spiritual cleansing because He is without sin. Christ Jesus is the name above all names.

What makes one name above every other name? Safely said, it is definitely not because of the paper it is written on, otherwise we would all pick the one name that would make our every dream come true. There is definitely more than one person with the name of Jesus on Earth, but none compare to that One Jesus who is called Christ. Christ is special because He is a sinless individual who is the Incarnation of the Godhead. Every other individual on Earth is born into the sinful nature of flesh and blood. If we invite Jesus into our heart it is much different than inviting another human that is born of flesh and blood. Christ is Spirit and lives in us through the Holy Spirit to bring remission of our sinful nature. A sinful human being is not a spirit that can live in us, and is definitely not without sin to enable us to enter into the presence of a Holy God. Jesus is the name above all names because of who He is; a member of the Godhead, and because of what He did; sacrificed His life on the Cross to atone for our sin.

Even before Adam’s fall into the nature of sin, God planned to redeem humanity by the Lamb who is without blemish and without spot. Jesus Christ is the only Door and the only Way into reconciliation with the Holiness of God. Because of the atonement for sin that He made on the Cross, we are justified in the eyes of God by our faith in His Son, Jesus. He lives within the soul and spirit of the believer which no other person born on Earth is qualified to do. Christ lives in us through the Holy Spirit, and there is no other person on Earth who can claim to be the Holy Spirit. Jesus is the name above all names because He is a member of the Trinity; The Son of God is the name of Jesus, in perfect unity with the Father, and in perfect unity with the Holy Spirit. By the Power of God, Jesus was resurrected from the dead, verifying His Deity, and verifying the resurrection power available to every believer who calls on His name. Jesus is the name above all names. We set ourselves apart from earthly spiritual gurus and worldly claims that there are more than one way into the presence of God. Spirituality is important, but it is an inner work that cleanses the sinful nature. Only Christ can come into our heart, through the Holy Spirit, to bring our spirit into the presence of the Holiness of God.

We are the Temple of God, so who we allow to shape our thoughts, emotions, heart, soul, and spirit will determine our relationship to the owner of the House. As it stands, Jesus is the only individual qualified to shape internal workings of the Temple of God. That is because Jesus lives in us by the Holy Spirit because of what He did for us on the Cross. To allow worldly ideas, philosophies, technology, and spirituality to claim our soul is to separate us from the presence of God. God’s Love, Mercy, Compassion, Patience, and Faithfulness cannot live in us if we do not allow the Holy Spirit to be the sole Spiritual leader of the House. The Holy Spirit lives in us only because of the faith we have in what Christ did for us on the Cross.

“But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
