Parable of the Sower
We need to know and understand that we are the Temple of God whose food is the Word of God. Everything that happens within our thoughts, feelings, spirit, and soul should welcome knowledge of God. God’s Word is a seed planted in the Garden of that House. Some seed of the Word is not really understood or taken to heart by those exposed to the Bible or the Word of the Holy Spirit. Wicked people will take advantage of that by making sure you never understand the Word of God and they will snatch it away from you. The Message of the Cross is being oppressed. Some people really do understand God’s Word and it brings them joy, but their depth is shallow, and with ridicule and mockery they distance themselves from it. When Satan sees that the Word of God is having a positive effect on you, he will attack you with tribulation, persecution, and harassment. Sometimes the seed of the Word of God falls immediately amidst the thoughts, emotions, and spirit of those filled with the concerns of this world and the false feeling of security from material wealth. Satan seeks to steal, kill, and destroy the Bible by filling a person with the concerns of this world and placing their dependence on materialism and basic needs. Now, the seed that falls into good ground includes those people who understand the Word of God and they bring forth the Fruit of the Holy Spirit, and the Word of the Spirit points people to the Cross of Christ.
Within our heart, soul, and mind we need a thorough understanding of God’s Word. An understanding that will prevail through persecution, tribulation, and harassment. An understanding so imbedded into our spirit that the concerns of the world, money, wealth, fame, fake news, etc. will not choke it out. It is a Spiritual understanding so powerful that the Fruit of the Holy Spirit remains during trials, harassment, and hardships. The House of God is free of concern for worldly riches and cares. That powerful Spiritual understanding comes through what Christ did for us on the Cross.
The sin nature is with humanity because of the fall in the Garden of Eden, and is the reason people are slow to understand the Spirit of the Word of God. Satan works through the sinful nature of the flesh by persecuting and harassing those seeking to understand what God has done for us through His Son, Jesus Christ. The Word of God, the Voice of the Holy Spirit, and the Gospel of Christ are suffering attacks of oppression. Along with tribulation, Satan tries to make you feel obligated to the ways of the world, it’s concerns, and it’s materialism. Satan wants to keep us ignorant to the Scriptures of the Bible and to the Word of the Holy Spirit. There are false doctrines of deceit that twist the Bible into ways to capitalize on materialism, wealth, and spiritual freedom.
The Word of God points us to the Cross, and the Cross is where Christ Jesus gave His life to reconcile us to God. Understanding that we are the sinners that God wants to reconcile to Him, through the Cross of His Son Jesus Christ, allows our heart, soul, and mind to be free in the Spirit of joy, love, peace…totally free of the cares of this world, persevering through persecution, and being able to let go of the everyday concerns. Our sin is nailed to the Cross as Christ abides in us. We simply believe and have faith in the Word of God. That is the seed that Satan wants to steal, kill, and destroy. The Good News from the Word of God is that Satan is defeated at the Cross, our sins are atoned for, and we have reconciliation with God. We blossom with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. We become set apart from the world to be implanted with the Word of God, to be separated from the tumultuous ways of the world, and to blossom with the Fruit of the Holy Spirit. As the Word of God teaches us, our home is not of this world but we have a Heavenly Home in the New Jerusalem.
“And he spoke many things unto them in parables, saying, Behold, a sower went forth to sow; And when he sowed, some seeds fell by the way side, and the fowls came and devoured them up: Some fell upon stony places, where they had not much earth: and forthwith they sprung up, because they had no deepness of earth: And when the sun was up, they were scorched; and because they had no root, they withered away. And some fell among thorns; and the thorns sprung up, and choked them: But other fell into good ground, and brought forth fruit, some an hundredfold, some sixtyfold, some thirtyfold”
