Where Is That Living Water?

The ministry of Christ, during His life on Earth, had it’s biggest impact after He uttered the words, “It is finished,” from the Cross. One such example is the giving of the Holy Spirit to whosoever would ask, but the baptism with the Holy Spirit came after those words, “It is finished.”  The Holy Ghost was made available to the whosoever after Christ’s death on the Cross. Howbeit, Jesus Christ was always full of the Holy Ghost, and that is what made His words, teachings, and actions so unusual during the pre-Cross era. He had something that no one else had, many wanted, but didn’t know where they could get it. Jesus met a woman at a well of water who asked Him, “Where is that living water?” Jesus replied to the tune of, If you knew the Gift of God…and if you knew Me…then you would ask me and I would give you that Water. Jesus baptizes us in the Holy Ghost,  from the Cross of Calvary, and springs up into Everlasting Life. Where is that Living Water? It flows from Christ according to what He has done from the Cross.

The Living Water is a Gift of God, the same as His Son being a Gift that God sent to us. When we accept what Christ has done for us on the Cross, then the rivers of Water flows to fill us with the Holy Ghost. Ask, ask, ask! No one is too polluted to be denied God’s gift! The woman at the well was a Samaratin woman, who were pretty much 3rd rate citizens and even called dogs. Not only was she a Samaratin, but she had five husbands, another very dark blemish on her social standing. Jesus was teaching and showing her the way to be baptized with the Holy Ghost. No matter how dark our sin, no one is perfect, we are all sinners, but through faith in the Cross of Christ our sin is put into remission. Asking Christ to abide in us will cleanse the House to allow the infilling of the Living Water. We separate ourselves from anything that separates us from the Gifts of God. Being separate from the sinful ways of the world is part of the process of a Holy God working in us through our thirst for Righteousness. Within us, the Water springs up into Everlasting Life.

We are the Temple of God, and Satan wants to stop the flow of the Living Water within our spirit, soul, and mind. Satan wants your House to be dry, barren, and filled with every tendency that steals, kills, and destroys the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Satan wants your garden to be dry and unfruitful. Howbeit, he is defeated because of what Christ has done for us on the Cross. If we ever ask, “Where is that Living Water?” the answer comes to us when we ask Christ to come into our House. The Holy Ghost will begin to trickle in, the House will begin to take on new life, and the Fruit of the Holy Spirit will fill the Temple of God. There will be a well of Water springing up into Everlasting Life.

“Jesus answered and said to her, If you knew the gift of God, and who it is that says to you, Give me to drink; you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water. The woman said to him, Sir, you have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from where then have you that living water? Are you greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? Jesus answered and said to her, Whosoever drinks of this water shall thirst again: But whosoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never thirst; but the water that I will give him will be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”        John 4:10-14
